Scott Benham BSc (Hons) MChiro DC ICCSP MRCC LRCC (Pain) LRCC (Sport)
Scott is originally from Bishop’s Stortford. He studied at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in Bournemouth for 4 years where he graduated with a Master of Chiropractic degree with Distinction. Scott is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and a member of both the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) and the Royal College of Chiropractors (RCC). He is also a member of the specialist Pain and Sport faculty of the college and has completed the prestigious Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (ICCSP) Award.
Scott has had experience of running GP-based satellite clinics for the provision of chiropractic treatment under the NHS and spent much time working in private practice.
He enjoys using a multi-disciplinary approach to treat a range of conditions, in particular neck pain, low back pain and sports related injuries.
Treatment techniques are tailored to the individual and may include chiropractic manipulation or mobilisation, medical acupuncture, therapeutic ultrasound, activator, soft tissue techniques and the use of kinesiotape. Prior to pursuing a career in chiropractic Scott worked as a lifeguard and swimming teacher and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Warwick.
Outside of work Scott likes to live a healthy lifestyle and regularly participates in sporting events. To date he has completed the New Forest and Bournemouth marathons, a Tough Mudder obstacle course and completed an Ironman triathlon for the charity Scope.
Heather Benham BA (Hons)
Heather offers Sports Massage, Swedish Massage, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage treatments on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Heather is a native of Bishop’s Stortford and has extensive local connections. She has been writing our social media feed since we opened and is often involved behind the scenes.
Heather has had a varied career path spanning banking in the City of London, management consultancy for a global accountancy firm and more recently SME business support across the East of England for a University.
Whilst working full time she managed to not only complete her massage and reflexology qualifications but also an Open University Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish. Last year Heather undertook pre and post race sports massage at number of sporting events including the Virgin London Marathon, the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon, the Takeley 10k and the Mitre 10k.
Outside of work Heather leads a healthy lifestyle, swimming, walking and taking regular yoga classes.
Linda Cole – Reception
Linda first came to Takeley Chiropractic as a patient. It was during those sessions that we became aware that the timing was perfect for her to join our team. Linda is an experienced administrator and has always worked for small businesses bringing a skill set to the team that we are already benefitting from.
Linda grew up in Sawbridgeworth and still lives locally with her husband Mark. When not supporting her parents, Linda enjoys walking, gardening and reading.
Nicholas Phillips – Chiropractor
Nicholas Phillips graduated with a Masters degree in chiropractic (MChiro) from the AECC University College in Bournemouth.
Nicholas has always seen his future career helping other people with musculoskeletal injures. Being a sports enthusiast, enhanced his interest in the musculoskeletal system and biomechanics.
Nicholas believes a holistic approach when treating patients to maximise progress of helping people. Chiropractic care also resumes outside of the clinic in the form of exercises and changes to daily routine. He also strongly stresses the importance of prevention of relapses of conditions to ensure prolonged optional musculoskeletal health.
